ROLE PURPOSE
The Manufacturing/Industrial Engineering Head is responsible for driving process design, line balancing, automation, and productivity improvement across manufacturing operations. The role includes verifying BOMs shared by R&D, conducting in-depth study of mechanical and electrical components, and leading cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives — while optimizing plant layout, methods, and standards to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost competitiveness in support of new product introduction and capacity expansion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Verify and validate Bill of Materials (BOM) shared by R&D for new and existing products, ensuring accuracy of part specifications, quantities, and manufacturability.
- Conduct in-depth study and evaluation of mechanical and electrical components to assess design feasibility, quality, and cost implications.
- Lead cost analysis and cost reduction initiatives across components, processes, and manufacturing methods without compromising quality.
- Lead industrial engineering initiatives — line balancing, cycle time studies, and work-station design — to optimize manufacturing efficiency.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs), standard time (SMV/SAM), and process documentation for all production lines.
- Design and optimize plant layout, material flow, and line configurations to support capacity and productivity goals.
- Drive automation and process improvement projects to reduce manual intervention, cycle time, and manufacturing costs.
- Support new product introduction (NPI) by developing process routings, tooling requirements, and line trials.
- Conduct time & motion studies, capacity analysis, and bottleneck identification to improve throughput.
- Collaborate with R&D, Production, Quality, & SCM teams to implement Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Evaluate and recommend capital investments in machinery, tooling, and automation to improve productivity and quality.
- Track and report productivity metrics, cost-saving initiatives, and process improvement results to senior management.
